The Postgraduate Diploma in Addiction Treatment Science is designed to build the capacity of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment practitioners to effectively address treatment of substance use disorders by use of cutting edge evidence based knowledge and practice.
The postgraduate diploma is a one year (3 Semester) programme offered on fulltime and part time mode that includes classwork, supervised practicum and a supervise project.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PROPOSED PROGRAMME
- A bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology with at least lower second or its equivalent, with internship experience in a drug treatment setting working with clients with SUDS.
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, nursing or social work with at least lower second or its equivalent, plus at least 2 years experience in clinical setting working with clients with SUDs.
- A bachelor’s degree in any field with at least lower second or its equivalent, plus a post graduate qualification (at least lower second or its equivalent, plus a post graduate qualification (at least a post graduate diploma) in Psychiatry, counseling or clinical psychology with internship experience in a drug treatment setting working with clients with SUDs.
Assessment criteria
- All except practicum and project shall be evaluated through Continuous Assessment Tests (sit-in and take away assignments) and end of semester Examinations.

Graduation requirements
A student will be eligible for graduation after having covered and passed in all 15 units equivalent to 51 credit hours (pass mark is 40% in all units). In addition the students should have successfully completed practicum and research project.
