The Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies hosted Prof. Jonathan Bonk who delivered a Lecture on Dictionary of African Christian Biography on 30th October 2019 at Kenyatta University Main Campus BSSC, Conference Room No. 12 from 2.00 – 4.30pm. Prof. Jonathan Bonk is a leading Missiologist at Boston University and Director of Overseas Ministries Study Centre (OMSC) at New Haven. He is the Founder and Director: DACB- https://dacb.org/Editor, DACB Journal https://dacb.org/journal/, and author: Missions and Money- Affluence as a Western Missionary Problem (1991 & 2006). The Lecture provided a forum for sharing ideas with the accomplished scholar who has written and contributed a lot in Missiology and especially on his Dictionary of African Christian Biography. The Lecture which was attended by lecturers, postgraduate and undergraduate students was an eye opener on new and possible areas of research on biographies of African Christians who have played a leading role in the growth and spread of Christianity. The Dean of School of Humanities & Social Science, Dr. Richard Wafula graced the occasion. Prof Jesse Mugambi, a Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies from the University of Nairobi accompanied Prof Bonk to Kenyatta University.
